The Mission of the Church. New World Order - Not!
What is the mission of the Catholic Church? Is it world domination, complete control or the New World Order? All these hypothesis have negative connotations and have paranoid many people, but those are not the mission. The church is solely in existence to teach and nurture us human beings how to create a faithful relationship with God.

If believing in a higher power turns you off, or is just hard to believe, dig down, deep down and ask yourself 'Are you sure self? Am I really happy?'. There is a tiny voice in there that will talk to you. It knows that you thirsts for him. Shhh! It's talking with you.. "Why are you so sad, my soul? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him"
Like a mother and father that wants their children to get along, be good friends, the Church helps us get along with and honor God. Jesus made it abundantly simple to live our lives with his explanation of the new covenant. Love God with all your heart and treat others, even the least of us, like how we want to be treated. The new covenant, aka the new way, describes the currency of God - Love. By loving God, praying to God, praying to Jesus, God sends down the Holy Spirit. And when we're lacking in our faith, prayer and the loving acts, God still loves us. He does not punish or judge. He will always forgive us.
Throughout the ages, man has had many covenants with God. Noah, Moses, Abraham all had covenants with God, but as humans, and with our God given free will, we broke the contracts. God did not punish us for eternity. He did not wipe away the human race from the planet. His love is everlasting and with the new covenant, the shedding of his only son's blood, we have a new chance. The Jews were God's chosen people and failed with many of the covenants they had with God. Their special relationship with God was not shared with the other people of the world. This was part of God's plan. God wisely chose the nation of Israel and it served his purpose. Instead of alienating the non-Jews of the world, Jesus saved the rest of the world and started the new covenant.
If you believe in Jesus, then as it is written in the Bible "You are a citizen of God's Kingdom and a member of his family" Ephesians 2:19. Jesus taught us that "Everything that the Father has is mine." and continued to explain that with the Holy Spirit it was now for us too. The Holy Spirit is the FEDEX Delivery truck that brings us what God has to give and by giving Jesus the order it's delivered for free. God will never abandon you, no matter how horrible you feel, no matter what you do, and no matter what anyone says about you. You're a candle and all it takes is a your humble and sincere apology and Jesus will forgive you and give you the gift of the Holy Spirit, relighting your candle with a flame brighter than sun. Honk Honk - there's a delivery for you. Place your order, get your shipment tracking information and with anticipation wait for the delivery. Just like at Christmas time, you must prepare for the gifts you're about to receive. Christmas gifts require you putting up the tree, buying wrapping paper, going to work to pay for the gift and the faith that the receiver of the gift will love it. It's exactly the same with the gifts God wants to give us. It does take time and work to have a relationship with God.
I think you know where I'm going with this. The challenge now, as Catholics, as fraternity members of Jesus Believers, is to continue the mission, the work, Jesus taught us. The more we love, the more we share and are selfless, the more we are charitable with time and money, the more we smile at strangers, the more we respond with love, grace and mercy, the MORE we fulfill the mission of the church and receive the Holy Spirit. God will never abandon you! I challenge you to grow in faith and manifest the miracle destined for you.
